Many people think if it's on the Internet, it's free! The truth is most online recovery sites and meetings have more expenses than their face-to-face counterparts.

A face-to-face meeting may only have to pay a small amount of rent to use a room in a church basement for an hour a week; websites have several different fees and expenses to remain online, including annual domain registration fees, website hosting and maintenance, chat room servers and software licenses.
